History of VCF Femenino displayed at 'Elles som tots' exhibition
'Elles som tots. La història del VCF Femení” is the name of a travelling exhibition organised by the VCF Foundation, through its Heritage and Museum Department, focusing on the Valencia CF women's team from its birth in 2009 to the present day. The display was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Biblioteca de la Dona library.
The Director General of the VCF Foundation, Teo Swee Wei, Vice President and Minister for Equality and Inclusive Policies of the Generalitat Valenciana, Mónica Oltra, and the Director General of the Valencian Women's Institute, María Such, participated in the opening.
Mr. Swee Wei said that: "This new exhibition has the same philosophy as always: To serve as a point of reference for those girls and young people who want to play football; to cultivate the enthusiasm of these girls and young people for the sport, and to show them that dreams can be fulfilled with perseverance, effort and work.
Mónica Oltra took the chance to congratulate Valencia CF and the Valencia CF Foundation for all their efforts to promote women's sport and, specifically, for this exhibit dedicated to women footballers, which "launches a powerful message: sport can be and is the engine for culture and the construction of more egalitarian, fairer and more feminist societies".
We are aware of the responsibility we have to be an important source of support in that dream. Valencia CF have already integrated the women's teams into our academy at the Ciudad Deportiva, at no cost to the youth squad players and their families, allowing the use of the same facilities and professionals as the VCF Academy.”
